Srinagar/New Delhi: A civilian was killed and three security personnel injured when terrorists attacked security forces when they were returning from a massive search operation in Kashmir’s Shopian district. Almost 4000 personnel from the Army, CRPF and police were involved in the search operation.
The ‘Operation Clean Up’ is considered to be the biggest search operation in Kashmir in more than a decade and it included door-to-door searching, a practice stopped in the late 1990s. It was reintroduced on Thursday following a number of militant attacks in Kashmir Valley in the last few months.
