Thiruvananthapuram: The state police chief T.P Senkumar decided to reexamine 42 cases charged on the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) which was withdrawn by the government.
After the UAPA cases became controversial, a committee chaired by the former police chief Lokanath Behera had withdrawn 42 such cases. They included a case for putting up posters calling for the boycott of elections and UAPA filed on human rights activists. According to Senkumar, these cases were withdrawn without merit.
