Kozhikode: Chembanoda Village Assistant Sileesh Thomas, the prime accused of abetting the suicide of farmer Joy surrendered before the police on Monday night.
Sileesh, who had been absconding since the incident surrendered before the Perambra SI. As per the statement of Molly Joy's wife, Sileesh threatened Joy for the bribe which caused a mental stress to the latter.
Joy committed suicide by hanging himself outside the Chembanoda village office on last Wednesday over the alleged indifference attitude of the officials.
