Chennai: Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister KT Rajenthra Bhalaji on last day alleged that the milk powder supplied by Nestle and Reliance in the state contains chemicals like caustic soda and bleaching powder.
Earlier, Mr Balaji also claimed that adulterated milk powder supplied by private companies can cause several diseases. He also added that such products could cause problems in kidney, liver and heart, besides leading to ulcers and diabetes.
Though the statements were denied by the companies, the minister said that the samples were tested in a central government certified lab in Chennai.
