Hundreds of people flock to watch the Ramaleela organised by the municipal corporation in Rajasthan's Sirohi town in Dussehra, the Hindu festival that marks the victory of good over evil. However this year the stage witnessed a twist in the tale. The actor who portrayed the role of Lord Rama refused to shoot the arrow to burn the effigy of 'Ravana' during Ramleela.
Manoj Kumar Mali, the 'Lord Rama' called the Bharatiya Janata Party mandal president in Sirohi as 'Ravan', the demon king. He also leveled some serious allegations regarding the allowance of grant to the committees.
'The actual Ravana is sitting in the stage, politicising every issue. 'Given this scenario, Lord Ram has to return disappointed', said Mali. The organisers and politicians left in a tough spot, when Mali along with 100 people from the group walked out of the show.
Later the organisers controlled the situation by dressing a child sitting among the audience as Ram, who finally fired the arrow to burn down the effigy.
