
Karipur: The National Investigation Agency on last day said that more than 20 people, who joined the terror outfit Islamic State had reportedly returned to India. Among them, 12 people were identified as Keralities.
The NIA had handed over the details of the returned militants to the State police. Reports suggest that 11 people were from Kannur and Kasargode and one from Malappuram area.
Of the 97 people who joined the militant outfit, 67 people joined the war front in Syria of which 15 of them were killed later. The returnees are under the NIA radar as they might work as sleeper cells in the country.
