New Delhi: In a shocking incident, senior medical staff members of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in east Delhi's Khichipur were booked for medical negligence after they left a towel inside a woman's stomach during her caesarian delivery.
As per the preliminary report, the woman identified as Kiran was admitted at the hospital following labour pain. It was later observed that after the caesarian operation, a towel, which was used during the operation, got left behind inside the woman's stomach. Even though she informed the doctors regarding the pain, they couldn’t get a proper diagnosis for her pain.
After remaining in the condition for more than a year, a detailed examination in another hospital revealed the real reason behind her pain. Kiran was later operated upon and the towel was removed. A senior police officer said that the cops have initiated an investigation into the case.
