Thiruvananthapuram: Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan on last day made it clear that the government will take over the land involved in the controversial deal by sub-Collector Divya S Iyer.
Earlier, the minister had directed the Land Revenue Commissioner to enquire into the decision taken by the sub-Collector. The minister's decree was followed by a complaint filed Varkala MLA V Joy against the the sub-collector's action.
In his complaint, V Joy alleged that Divya arbitrarily canceled the takeover of 27 cents of land under the survey number 227, despite the land being owned by the Revenue department.
He also pointed that her arbitrary action helped a close relative of a local congress member who is an associate of her husband, Congress MLA KS Sabarinathan.
