
Kochi: The uncertainly over the India-West Indies ODI match venue continued on Wednesday. The GCDA, which owns the stadium in Kochi said that they are looking for option to conduct both the football and cricket matches at the stadium. A final decision will be made in consultation with the experts.
After the protest from soccer enthusiasts and fraternities including Sachin Tendulkar, the Kerala Cricket Association reviewed their decision to conduct the India-West Indies ODI at the Kaloor stadium.
Many footballers including IM Vijayan, Iain Hume, Vineeth have voiced their concern over the reported move to dig up the newly laid football turf at the Jawaharlal Stadium in Kochi in order to host the match.
While speaking to Asianet news, KCA Secretary Jayesh George said that KCA is not stubborn regarding the match venues. He also made it clear they are not interested in a controversy.
