
After the protest from soccer enthusiasts and fraternities including Sachin Tendulkar, the Kerala Cricket Association changed their decision to conduct the India-West Indies ODI at the Kaloor stadium.
The KCA officials made it clear that the state government requested them to change the venue by considering the request made by football enthusiasts.
Many footballer including IM Vijayan, Iain Hume, Vineeth have voiced their concern over the reported move to dig up the newly laid football turf at the Jawaharlal Stadium in Kochi in order to host the match.
While speaking to Asianet news, KCA Secretary Jayesh George said that KCA is not stubborn regarding the match venues. He also made it clear they are not interested in a controversy. However, the Kerala Blaster officials, KCA and GDCA will held a meeting today in order to take a final decision of the issue.
