Concerns over data leak: PM Modi wants servers in India

New Delhi: Expressing concerns over the data leaks and alleged manipulation of user information by global internet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed that the data sharing servers should be located within the country.

The issue was discussed within the IT department and carried out a review.

The majority of user data generated on platforms of top companies such as Google, Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram is stored across servers located internationally. Moreover, they are regulated by US laws and certain international treaties.
