Thiruvananthapuram: The Intelligence Bureau Chief has landed in the state capital amid recent intelligence reports that suggested a conspiracy behind the hoax hartal in Kerala over the Kathua rape.
Though IB said that the director is in Kerala in connection with the national agency's anniversary celebration, the recent findings regarding the social media hartal has prompted the bureau to be vigil.
Calls for hartal started doing the rounds in social media on Saturday morning. Sporadic incidents of violence and looting were reported in northern Kerala. The police have registered cases against more than 1,000 people in connection with the hartal.
