Kottayam : The Kottayam Gandhi Nagar police station is currently under fire for neglecting the complaint filed over the abduction of a newlywed man in Kottayam. Sub inspector MS Shibu, ASI has been suspended from service for the alleged negligence during the investigation. Kottayam SP Muhammad Rafeeq had been transferred from the district.
The district police chief demanded an explanation from the officials about the incident. The DGP has sought a report from the IG about the incident. The newly married man, who was abducted just a day after his marriage was found dead at Chaliyekkara in Punalur.
Kevin, 23 had been missing from Sunday morning. He was allegedly abducted by his wife's relatives. His cousin brother Aneesh was also abducted along with him. The local people found Kevin's body on Monday morning. Though his wife Neenu, filed a complaint in the Police Station, the cops did not acted effectively on the complaint
It is alleged that Kevin was abducted by a gang led by the girls' brother. Meanwhile, DGP Loknath Behra promised to take action against the police officers who acted carelessly on the complaint.
