Irrfan Khan starer 'Doob -No Bed of Roses' is Bangladesh's official entry for the Academy Awards 2019. The Bangladesh Oscar Committee chose the movie as the entry for the best foreign language film category.
Directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, the movie was initially banned in Bangladesh. The movie courted controversy in the wake of reports that it was loosely based late Bangladeshi writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed.
However, Farooki denied that it was a biopic and the film later received a No Objection Certificate from the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation.
'Doob' features Irrfan also its co-production, as a successful filmmaker facing a crisis when he has tryst with his daughter's childhood friend, causing a national scandal.
