Kochi : The Kerala High Court will consider the bail plea of former Jalandhar diocese Bishop Franco Mulakkal in the Nun abuse case on Thursday.
The investigation team is expected to strongly oppose the bail citing the high chances of sabotaging the case. The court has asked the government to clear their stand on the petition which was submitted the other day.
The investigation team will also point out the strong influence of the Bishop in the society and the chances of manipulating witnesses and evidences, in the court.
Meanwhile, the Nuns from the Missionaries of Jesus said that the accused Bishop is innocent and the police arrested him without any reason.
After a meeting with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Delhi, they also added that the case was fabricated and accused the investigation team of favouritism.
