Pattanamthitta : The Kerala High Court on Wednesday sought an explanation from the Advocate General over the recent issues in Sabarimala. The court asked the AG that why wasn't the restrictions in Sannidhanam were not withdrawn, causing much discomfort to the devotees.
Expressing displeasure, the court also asked that why the Advocate General failed to inform the court's instruction to the concerned authorities. The court also came down heavily on IG Vijay Sakhare and SP Yathish Chandra over their actions in Sabarimala. 'They do know Malayalam, right', then why chanting Ayyappa mantra' was considered as an offence, the court reportedly asked.
The court also questioned that why SP Yathish Chandra went soft during the Congress MLA's attempt to violate the prohibitory orders in Nilakkal.
However, the Attorney General Informed the court that the devotees was not barred from chanting Ayyappa mantra in Sannidhanam. He also added that the tight security was due to the Intelligence report citing chances of violence during Mandakalam.
The court also directed the AG not to put true devotees in difficult with all the restrictions. The court also slammed the petitioner over the BJP circular and directed the police to investigate the matters in the circular.
