
MeToo storm undoubtedly startled the stalwarts in the Indian film Industry and Chinmayi was the first among the Southern Film Industry artists who showed the courage to call out the predators in the Music Industry.
After calling out poet-lyricist Vairamuthu, she faced a lot of trolling and abuse from all corners. In an interview with Hindu, the revealed that life had been not the same after the revelations.
Chinmayi pointed that she was terminated from the South Indian cine Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union. 'I used to sing three songs a day, but now it all dried up and even two of the movies I'd signed for dubbing were also cancelled, she added.
Talking about the consequences for calling out big names in the Industry, Chinmayi added that not just in Tamil women who are a part of WCC in Malayalam have been facing the issue.
'They want to show us as example to other women to say, if you speak up, this is what will happen to you', Chinmay said.
