Thiruvananthapuram : Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran has said that the Kerala Government is not keen to push women entry into the Sabarimala temple. He also added that if government had any particular interest in women entry, then it could've done much earlier.
The Devaswom Minister made the comments after a review meeting with Devaswom Board regarding the Sabarimala issue. Pointing that as long as the SC order is effective, women of all ages are allowed to visit the shrine, the minister added.
He also asserted that activist should not visit Sabarimala to make a point. Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kadakampally said that the false claims and propaganda by a national party is the sole reason behind the low number of Ayyappa devotees in Sabarimala.
