Thiruvananthapuram : The Kerala High Court on Monday has imposed a ban on using plastic flex boards in the campaign polls for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While issuing the interim order, the court made it clear that the use of degradable boards are allowed.
The court had earlier restrained recognized and registered political parties from erecting digital banners or placard on either side of arterial roads, platforms and walkways.
The new directions issued by the court require urgent action by officers concerned to remove all illegal flex boards/hoardings/billboards/flags within 10 days.
The court also added that that failing to do so would be termed as dereliction of duty and appropriate penal measures would be imposed in this regard.
