Pattanamthitta : The uncertainty and impasse continues over the candidature of BJP General Secretary K Surendran from the Pattanamthitta constituency, even as the party is likely to release a list of candidate anytime today.
As per the reports, the RSS leadership wanted Surendran to contest instead of Sreedharan Pillai. Suredran's candidacy from Pathanamthitta landed in trouble after Pillai staked claim to it.
Meanwhile, the tussle for the Pathanammthitta mounted after Central Minister Alphons Kannathanam demanded the seat. Another prominent BJP leader Sobha Surendran is expected to contest from Attingal.
However, the RSS leadership is clearly irked over the delay in announcing the candidates. Alphons Kannanthanam, another Pattanamthitta aspirer is being considered for Kollam.
