
The India Meteorological Department IMD on Sunday said that the low-pressure has formed over Southeast Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a depression during the next 48 hours.
The weather department also said that the wind speeds, reaching up to 40-50 kmph are very likely to prevail over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoing Lakshadweep.
Fisherman have been advised to not to venture into these areas for the next few days. The IMD also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places of northern Malappuram and Kozhikode on June 12.
