Kochi : Former Kerala Public Works Department (PWD) Minister VK Ebrahim Kunju is under the anti-graft watchdog for his alleged role in the Palarivattom flyover scam.
The Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau has informed the state government that they are closely examine his role in the alleged irregularities in the construction of the flyover.
Earlier, Former PWD Secretary TO Sooraj, who had been arrested over the scam has raised allegations against the minister. The VACB requires a permission to question the former minister
Sooraj's claims
TO Soorj had claimed that Ebrahim Kunju had ordered the release of advance funds to the builder. Sooraj also added that the contractor was responsible for the repair works of the flyover.
Palarivattom flyover scam
The infamous Palarivattom NH Bypass flyover was built during the previous UDF government. The four-lane flyover on National Highway bypass in Palarivattom region of Kochi had to be shut less than three years after it was opened in 2016
