Sultan Bathery : The students of the Bathery Govt Sarvajana Vocational Higher Secondary school on Friday staged a protest against the school officials demanding action against those who were responsible for Shehla's death.
Shehla, a class V student, told her classmates and teacher that she was bitten by a snake through a crevice on the classroom floor at 3.10 pm on Wednesday.
However, Shajil and other staff members failed to take emergency action

The death of the nine year old girl after being bitten by a snake in a classroom at Govt Sarvajana VHSE school had triggered a huge outcry forcing the authorities to suspend a teacher.
The incident exposed the gross negligence of not just the school staff but also the health network in the district.
Violent protests
Meanwhile, the march conducted by various parties including SFI, Youth Congress towards the Wayanad Collectorate took a violent turn with the police initiating lathi charge against the party workers.
