
Mangaluru : The tense situation in Mangaluru continues to prevail as the Mangaluru city police extended the curfew in the city till midnight of December 22
This was followed by the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the violent incidents that followed in the city on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the media persons were from Kerala were detained by the Mangaluru police on Thursday. As per the reports, the team including reporters and cameramen were reporting at the Wenlock Hospital while reporting the death of two people in the CAA protests.
A team headed City Police Commissioner Dr PS Harsha has taken the media into custody by citing curfew and lack of accreditation.
Internet Suspended
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Home Department has suspended the mobile internet data service pf all service providers fro 48 hours, in-order to control the tense situation in the city.
Blame Game
Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommi alleged that some of the people from neighbouring Kerala indulged in violence in Mangaluru and warned that strict action will be taken against those involed in violence and spreading rumours.
