
Nalini Sriharan, who was convicted for the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, on Monday night threatened to attempted suicide in prison after a spat with jail authorities. Nalini has been lodged in jail for the last 29 years.
Nalini, who is currently imprisoned in the Special Prison for Women in Vellore (Tamil Nadu), got engaged in an argument with jail authorities after one of the inmates, a 60-year-old woman, complained against her.
Upset over the quarrel, Nalini reportedly tried to strangle herself with a piece of cloth. Her condition is stable now.
