In an unfortunate incident, a three-year-old boy died after he accidentally swallowed a coin at his home near Aluva, with relatives alleging that government hospitals where he was taken to had refused to admit him as he came from a COVID-19 containment zone.
Denying the allegations of medical negligence, the doctors pointed coin was located in the stomach and not in the air tubes or lungs of the toddler.
The exact reason behind the death can be only revealed through a detailed postmortem. A police surgeon will be conducting the autopsy.
