Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi dismissed the rumours of him being the chief ministerial candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Assam
.
His remarka came after Congress leader Tarun Gogoi on Saturday claimed that “his sources” told him the BJP could name Gogoi the party’s candidate from Assam in the 2021 Assembly elections.
I’m not a politician and have no such ambition or intent,” Gogoi told India Today in an interview
Tarun Gogoi alleged that the BJP made the former CJI a member of the Rajya Sabha because the party was happy with his verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute. He added that Ranjan Gogoi entered politics “step by step” in a gradual manner.
