The Allahabad High Court on Thursday dismissed a habeas corpus writ petition which claimed that the Hathras victim's family had been illegally detained by the district administration.
Dismissing the plea, the court pointed out that the matter was already sub judice in the Supreme Court.
Kumar, who identified himself as the national general secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Valmiki Mahapanchayat, who filed the petition claimed he had been approached by the family.
In the petition, he alleged that the district administration had illegally detained the victim’s family, and said they should be allowed to travel to Delhi.
