Mumbai: Major e-commerce players including Flipkart, Amazon and Big-basket have stopped the CoD (Cash-on-Delivery) mode of payment following the government's decision to scrap the existing Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in the country.
As per the reports, the option for CoD has been temporarily stopped for orders above Rs 1000. Several food delivery portals have also stopped the CoD mode and told their customers to chose alternative paying methods such as debit/credit card.
However, Snapdeal is still continuing with the CoD payment option but it will not accept Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. There's a notifications which reads - "Dear customer, in light of the recent govt mandate - please note that Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will not be accepted for your CoD orders."
