Idukki: The sudden ban of 500 and 1000 rupee notes created distress in the commercial and tourism sectors of the state. The closure of banks and ATMs and non-availability of money created havoc for many including students.
Several shopkeepers kept their shops closed due to non-availability of changes while travelling on public transport was also affected due to the same reason. Tourists are also affected and several did not even leave their hotel rooms last day.
