Srinagar: Pakistan said that seven of its soldiers were killed in an “unprovoked firing” by the Indian Army on Sunday night. It said the soldiers were killed in a ceasefire violation by Indian troops at the Bhimber sector of the LoC and that the Pakistani troops targeted Indian outposts in retaliation.
Meanwhile, the Indian officials had said that it was only responding to a ceasefire violation by Pakistan where it had targeted India’s outposts and border villages with heavy machine guns and mortars.
The Pakistan Foreign Office also summoned the Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale on Monday to protest the LoC firing and said that India should stop all ceasefire violations.
