The Central government on Friday denied any data leak from the CoWIN portal and asserted that data of residents is safe and secure on the digital platform.
The government also announced that it has launched a probe into the source of the news claiming data breach on the portal set up to keep track of the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
In an official statement, the Health Ministry said that it is getting the report of data leak examined.
"However, prima facie it appears that the alleged leak is not related to CoWIN as we neither collect any information on address nor the Covid-19 status of beneficiaries," it added.
