
The Indian Army team has rescued Babu,
23-year-old trekker who was stranded on a cliff near Cherad hill in Malampuzha of Palakkad in Kerala.
He has been given safety gears. It would take 45 minutes to reach the top of the hill by foot. The army team is likely to airlift him from the top of the hill. It would take four hours to descend the hill by foot.
A team of nine members, two Army Officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) and five other ranks from Wellington reached the spot past midnight to join the rescue mission.
Another Air Force team and a mountaineering Army team from Bengaluru have reached the spot and joined the rescue mission.
