As Congress received a drubbing in the Assembly elections in five states, leaders of G-23 suggested Mukul Wasnik for the post of president of the party, according to a report.
However, the suggestion of G-23 leaders, the dissident group within the party, was not accepted, reported news agency ANI citing sources.
"G23, which consists of Anand Sharma, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kapil Sibal, had suggested Mukul Wasnik's name for the post of president of the party. But it was not accepted," the sources, who is a part of G23, said.
