Kochi: Following the slashing of theatre profits accrued to film producers by 10 percent, the Christmas release of four Malayalam films has been postponed. The decision for postponement comes after the producers, distributors and theater owners failed to reach an agreement in the matter.
Though the four films ‘Jomonte suviseshangal’, ‘Munthirivallikal thalirkkumbol’, ‘Fukri’ and ‘Ezra’ were scheduled for release towards the middle of this month, they have been postponed.
At present, theater owners hand over 60 percent of their profits to film producers. But problems started after this has been reduced to 50 percent.
