Thiruvananthapuram: Former Malayalam actress Dhanya Mary Varghese and her husband John Jacob were arrested by the police from Nagercoil in connection with a real estate fraud case.
Dhanya’s father-in-law Jacob Samson was earlier detained by the police in the same case.
According to several complaints received by the police, the Samson and Sons Builders and Developers Ltd owned by Jacob Samson and his sons collected huge sums of money from people on the false promise of building flats. About Rs.100 crores of money was thus collected from investors with the promise of high interest rates.
