New Delhi: The noted medical scientist, educationist and author B.M Hegde praised Narendra Modi for implementing demonitisation and said that the Prime Minister deserves the Nobel Prize in Economics for such a bold move.
In an article written in The New Indian Express, Hegde called demonitisation a master stroke and praised Modi’s vision and mission to implement it.
“This is called political mastery over the country’s ills. Such persons are born once in a century. The way he administered the blow on the black money hoarders with such finesse baffles even brilliant political minds,” Hegde said.
In contrast, Nobel Prize winner and prominent economist Amartya Sen had called demonitisation a “despotic action”.
