
Thiruvananthapuram: The 21st International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) came to a close yesterday at the Nishagandhi auditorium after Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan handed over the awards to winners in various categories.
The Egyptian film ‘Clash’ directed by Mohamed Diab won the Suvarna Chakoram for Best Film and Rajatha Chakoram audience prize. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh and citation. Rajatha Chakoram for Best Director was won by Turkish filmmaker Yesim Ustaoglufor ‘Clair Obscur’ and carries a cash prize of Rs. 4 lakh.
Rajatha Chakoram for Best Debut Director was won by Vidhu Vincent for ‘Manhole’ which also won the FIPRESCI award for Best Malayalam Film. Jack Zagha’s Mexican film ‘Warehoused’ won the FIPRESCI for Best International Film.
The NETPAC award for Best Asian Film was won by the Turkish film ‘Cold of Kalandar’ directed by Mustafa Kara. The NETPAC award for Best Malayalam Film was won by Rajeev Ravi’s ‘Kammattipadam’.
