Singer K.J Yesudas was once annoyed when Oscar-winning music composer A.R Rahman edited one of his songs and made it sound totally different on the cassette.
The song was ‘Pachaikkilikal tholodu’ from the 1996 Tamil film ‘Indian’. It was sung by Yesudas and composed by Rahman. Though Yesudas had sung it in a deep, bass voice, all the bass was removed by Rahman through some computer editing.
An angry Yesudas immediately contacted Rahman and added that he will file a case against the film’s producer A.R Mani Ratnam. The issue was finally resolved when Rahman and Kamal Haasan reached a peaceful settlement with the singer.
