Malayalam film actor and Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi opened up on why he refrained from acting for a long time. Gopi was hurt when none of his colleagues in the film world attended his father’s funeral.
Gopi was shooting the climax scene of a film at Ooty when the news of his father’s death came. He immediately went home and attended the funeral but was pained that none of the film’s crew visited him at home.
The film’s director and producer called him a few days later to ask when he can re-start the shooting, but Gopi only replied that he stopped acting. Even a senior actor persuaded him to return but Gopi had already made up his mind.
