Though it is common for actors to address the film director and producer as ‘Sir’, it is not very common for senior actors to do so. But despite the seniority, yesteryear actor Sathyan addressed every director and producer as ‘Sir’, no matter what their age and experience were.
Hence, Sathyan did not change his ways on the sets of ‘Oru Penninte Katha’, which was produced by the director K.S Madhavan and his brother Murthy. But Sathyan calling him ‘Producer Sir’ made young Murthy uncomfortable, and he conveyed the same to the actor.
To the newbie producer, Sathyan replied: "I can definitely call you Murthy; but if I do so, the next generation of film actors will also be calling you Murthy!"
