New Delhi: The Tamil Nadu government submitted a formal request to the Union Home Ministry to remove the ban on jallikattu. The request first went to the Environment Ministry before being passed to the Home Ministry.
The Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Thambidurai and 45 other AIADMK MPs had met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday asking for the issuance of an ordinance to remove the jallikattu ban. Thambidurai said that the HM has assured that he will initiate the steps for ordinance issuance in three days.
