'Valentines' day' or St Valentine day is celebrated every year on 14th February worldwide. Each year on February 14th, many people exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their special 'valentine'. The date gets its name from a famous saint, but there are several stories portraying different other tales on him.
A popular one is the story of Saint Valentine Rome, who was imprisoned by the emperor for performing marriage to the soldiers. During his time in jail, valentine falls in love with the jailer's daughter and before his execution, he wrote her a letter signed 'your valentine' as a farewell.
