
Chennai: Edappadi Palanisamy, who was chosen as the AIADMK’s legislature party leader, met the Governor seeking permission to become the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Palanisamy was accompanied by 12 ministers and claimed that he has the support of 123 MLAs.
Following the Supreme Court verdict in the disproportionate asset case awarding four years of jail to V.K Sasikala, the latter ousted the acting Chief Minister O.Paneerselvam and 19 others from the party. Palanisamy was chosen as the legislature leader during Sasikala’s meeting with the MLAs settled at the Koovathur resort.
