Chennai: The husband of Deepa Jayakumar, niece of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on last day announced his decision to launch a new party. He will contest against his wife from the same constituency from where Deepa’s is contesting. The new turn of events created confusion in TN political scenario.
Madhavan made his announcement after visiting the Jayalalithaa memorial at Marina Beach. He told the reporters that he took the decision as ‘evil forces’ had started operating the MGR Amma Deepa Peravai, the party floated by his wife.
Though there was a political split in between them, Madhavan reaffirmed that there was no problem with their marital status.
