Munnar: The CPM called off its strike against Devikulam sub-collector Sriram Venkitaraman after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan assured them of looking into the issue.
The CPM-affiliated Kerala Karshaka Sangam had been staging a protest in front of the RDO office since March 17 against the sub-collector for objecting to fell trees in the Vattavada and Kanthallur regions. The CM had then convened a meeting but did not agree to the protesters demand of transferring the sub-collector.
