
Thiruvananthapuram: It has been decided at a meeting of state ministers to remove beacon lights from the vehicles of ministers. It has also been decided that the vehicles of the Chief Minister and other ministers must display registration numbers.
The central government had recently announced that, from May 1, beacon lights must be removed from vehicles. The police, fire-force and ambulances are exempt from this requirement.
Kerala Governor P.Sathasivam, Minister Dr. Thomas Issac and a few other ministers have already removed the beacon lights.
