
Thiruvananthapuram: Stray incident of violence were reported during the dawn to dusk hartal called by the Congress-led opposition in Kerala to protest against the alleged ant-people policies of the state and central government.
Though opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala called for a peaceful hartal, incidents of stone pelting were reported at KSRTC buses in Palarivattom and Thiruvananthapuram.
State Police Chief Loknath Behra made it clear that they will make necessary arrangements to ensure safety and security of public. The Kerala government had ordered the police to take strict action against those who indulge in violence in the name of the protest.
