Moscow: In a strange incident, thousand of snowballs has been formed on an 11-km stretch of coastline in the Gulf of Ob in northwest Siberia. A part of the coast was covered by icy spheres. However, the incident was from a rare environmental process where small pieces of ice form, are rolled by wind and water and ends up as giant snowballs.
Russian TV quoted an explanation from the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute 'as a rule, first there is a primary natural phenomenon-sludge ice, sob etc'. Earlier, a similar phenomenon was witnessed in the Gulf of Finland in December 2014 and on Lake Michigan in December 2015.
