New York: A former U.S Navy SEAL has explained in his new book that he alone was responsible for killing Osama bin Laden and that the terrorist’s head was so destroyed by his bullets that it had to be pieced together for identification.
Robert O’Neill made the claim in his new book 'The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Bin Laden'. The terrorist was killed on May 2, 2011, inside his residence at Abottabad in Pakistan.
According to O’Neill, Bin Laden stood behind his fourth wife Amal and he fired three bullets at the terrorist. Another member of this SEAL team, Mark Bissonnette, had released a book titled ‘No Easy Day’ in 2012 detailing the operation.
